This workshop will focus on signature standing and seated poses found in our multi level, intermediate, and power classes. There will also be time to break down any requested poses.

 Workshop will include a brief discuss of the basic foundation of each pose, a short practice to warm up the body, leading to practicing each pose with hands on assists as needed.

Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine native to India to help us live our most whole and healthy lives. It is often referred to as the "sister science of yoga". In this workshop we'll explore:
- beginning to know and understand the unique aspects of our own bodies & minds (dosha)

- the attributes (gunas) to help us recognize imbalances in both mind and body

- routines (dinacharya) for daily living and the seasons

- an introduction to our digestive fire (agni) and toxins (ama)

- asana, pranayama, and meditation choices from an Ayurveda perspective

Workshop will conclude with a yoga practice focused on the elements of earth, water, fire, and air.

Ayurveda living can elevate your yoga lifestyle to new levels as you seek to better understand yourself and make choices with fierce self-love and compassion for a lifetime of health.

This is a gentle Yoga class with a brief Reiki session, essential oils, sound therapy, and a guided meditation incorporated into it. Gentle Yoga is performed at a slower pace, with less intense positions, and includes extended time for mediation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. There is more emphasis on stretching, seated poses, and low-impact movements. Modifications are provided for all levels.

Reiki is a Japanese word translated as “Universal Life Energy.” Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, meditation, and reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing. With the permission of students, brief Reiki touch is incorporated into the meditation portion of classes.

 

Noreen is a twelve-year practitioner of Yoga and a registered RYT-200 certified Yoga Alliance Instructor and Reiki Master Practitioner with experience in providing training sessions to people of different age groups and levels. Her Reiki certification is through the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki System of Natural Healing and she will be completing her RYT-500 Yoga certification in November, 2023.

She is an expert in Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Flow, Restorative, and Yin Yoga techniques. She works with participants' capabilities and limitations to design an individual asana plan that will fit them. She guides classes focused on promoting the well-being of the mind, body, and spirit through asanas and meditation. Meditations are guided with the use of essential oils, quartz sound bowls, Koshi Chimes, and other sound tools.

This sound healing experience will begin with a gentle guided meditation or a simple breathwork exercise for the first 5 or 10 minutes. We will then transition into listening to sounds for the remainder of this 90 minute class.

 

In the sound healing portion of this experience, Austin will be using an array of musical instruments from ancient cultures to create a space of deep peace. With these instruments Austin will be holding space for each of you to connect with aspects of yourselves that may get foggy through our daily routines. In this experience you may also experience deep relaxing states that can promote awareness of yourself beyond the body or emotions that can lead you to the essence and fullness of your being. His intention for everyone who attends is for each of you to leave feeling better than ever!

 

Austin Shook is a natural healer in a variety of modalities. All of his practice is centered around the heart with the belief that once the heart is healed, the choice to give and receive love freely is made. After this balance is achieved in the heart space, everything else naturally balances itself. His modality of choice is sound therapy. With this technique, he uses an array of instruments from ancient cultures to create a space that makes it effortless to slip into a peaceful state of mind and being. Austin is also certified as a Reiki Master and utilizes high vibrational energy (love) to balance out the rest of the energetic centers in the body and to release blockages that keep us from recognizing and merging with our highest potential self.

Wet Your Plants Not Your Pants - A Pelvic Floor Workshop

The pelvic floor is a specific set of muscles that we often don't think about and yet we expect that they will just work for us properly. However, it is estimated that 30-40% of all women will struggle with some form of pelvic floor dysfunction in their lifetime. We often ignore or don't discuss any issues we are experiencing out of embarrassment, guilt, shame, or lack of knowing that dysfunction can be resolved. This workshop will be taught by Hayley Chrzastowski, a Doctor of Occupational Therapy with a specialty in women's health and pelvic floor function. In this workshop we will breakdown the anatomy and better understand the function of the pelvic floor, dispel myths you might have heard, work on connecting with these muscles for both strength and relaxation, learn how to help the muscles work for you and not against you, practice exercises specific to pelvic floor issues, and learn how to incorporate proper pelvic floor exercises into your daily routine. If you are experiencing any issues with bowel or bladder function, leaking urine, painful intercourse, heaviness in the pelvic floor, issues connecting with the pelvic floor, or just interested in learning more, then this workshop is for you! No topic is off limits!

 

 

Hayley Chrzastowski is a doctor of occupational therapy specializing in pelvic floor health and function. She works specifically with women across the lifespan addressing various issues that arise as a result of pregnancy, postpartum, and the aging process. While Hayley is kind, empathetic, and a gentle practitioner, she will leave no stone unturned to ensure that you walk away feeling more knowledgeable, empowered, and stronger in properly utilizing, engaging, and protecting the pelvic floor.

This is a 60 min guided meditation practice from the Instinctive Meditation approach which all can enjoy. We will explore the Radiance Sutras and learn how to apply techniques and skills to find deep relaxation through our senses, instincts, thoughts and desire for inner peace. Indulge in a full-body relaxation and a deep meditative state of consciousness, leading to complete relaxation. An opportunity to connect to the closing of the season, and the last full moon of summer. This experience will open with sun salutations to help you let go of your day. We will move into a softer energy flowing into moon salutations. With the focus within we will move through a guided meditation followed by self inquiry. A journal is recommended.
